How to Use a Sew On Button Foot

Hey Everyone! This is Sarah with Sewingpartsonline.com and today we are going to be going over how to use the Sew On Button Foot. It’s a snap-on foot that lets you sew your buttons on your project easily and
quickly. This is our sew on button foot. the blue part right here is the
front of the foot and this little arm back here is the back of the
foot. This bar is the clamp that goes on to your shank . Here is has a nice wide opening for your button. Whats important about using this foot is
you need to make sure your feed dogs have been dropped. So, I have a little lever back here that i just switch off and then the feed dogs will drop. To install it, all we need to do is take off the foot we have on. And snap it on like that. very simple. Alright, so now we are ready to sew our button on. make sure your feed also dropped since this has 4 holes, we want to sew the holes closest to us first. So go ahead and put it underneath your foot. before even start sewing and make sure
the needle is gonna actually go into the holes to prevent any flying metal. That one goes right there fine. And that one will go right there fine. So now I can just go ahead and press the button because on my machine i have the sew on button stitch, so it’s just a matter
of pressing the button. and now since we had two more holes in
the back, we can move it back a little bit once again, check to make sure the needle isn’t going to hit the button. And go. also if you have a thread cutter don’t use it. You want the long thread to be able to pull the top threads to the under side and knot it off. So, I would pull these threads to the back and knot them off for the button to be completely sewn. So, that was the Sew On Button Foot. To purchase your Sew On Button Foot, visit us online at sewingpartsonline.com or on facebook at Facebook/sewingpartonline.
