Weaving on a pin loom: continuous strand method basics, part 2, color changes

Okay, I told you that I would get back when I was almost finished with this piece, but I decided to show you how I do a color change. As you know, I like to work on this side, and I cut my yarn, and this was the last row I did, and then I will take this grey thread, and, you know, I always like to imagine how the yarns will go, because in the next row they will go like this, approximately, so I have to take this yarn, I will leave the end here, and I have to weave this yarn through this, I will take my short crochet hook, and then I will just work like always, I just go under the first under the third, skipping one, next skipping one, next, so you work your way through this, till the very end of it, almost finished, so this is the last, and then I will put it around the next free nail, I will pull my yarn over to this side, wrap it around this nail, and wrap it around this nail, and then I will just make a little knot in these two threads, and you don’t have to pull hard on it it’s just to have a little bit of tension to secure it, so when finishing the piece you can
undo it and finish it in a neat way. So, and then you just continue like you normally did, when you was working with the red yarn.
So, again, just go around this peg, next peg, and then I like to put my yarn in the right direction, and again, just under the first so, like this, and work all the way to the end. You see, now you’ve made your color change, and, I will do one more row, and then I will do
another color change to show you one more time how I do this. So, again, around this nail, putting my yarn in the right direction. You know, you can use this one, but, I always lose my yarn, so I must say that I prefer it the easy way doing it one at a time, okay, this goed fairly quickly of course, but, like I said before, just do it in the way you prefer to do it, So, now again, I will do a color change, so first I will go this way, I will straighten it up a little bit, I like to use my regular needle for it, because when I use my crochet hook, I sometimes grab more than I like, and then it’s only getting messy-er, so, okay. Well, I cut my yarn, and then I will take another color that I like, and then again, it’s going to be like
this, I will lay it like it’s going to lay down in the end, so the end is here. So this was the last grey thread that you did, so go under this one, and just work like normal, till the end, well, this row… okay, so, put it here, move your yarn over
to the other side, to the next free nail. Oh, I think I, what did I do here? Did I go wrong? Oh yeah, something was wrong here. Okay, So, again, make a little knot here, just to have some tension on it, so now you have made another color change. Pull this in a straight line so it straightens it up a litlle bit, and then, well, just continue to work, and then I will get back to you when I’m nearly at the end.
